Darcie’s footballing career started when she was 6 years old, playing for Donside Boys and for Midmar Primary School. Donside later formed a Girls team and Darcie played for the 2006’s and went on to captain the Donside team that won the girls Scottish Cup for their age group. The team then went on to compete in a Girls World Club Cup in Barcelona, where they also lifted the trophy.
Darcie was asked to trial for Aberdeen’s youth National Development squad at the age of 13 and, despite an offer being made, she chose to remain at Donside with her friends. A year later having put in a ‘Ballon d'Or’ performance scoring 56 goals for Donside that season, she decided the time was right and made the jump to National Performance Football and joined the Aberdeen Youth Squad.
On her debut game for Aberdeen she scored 5 goals against an established Women’s team, securing her place as one of the sides main strikers. At the age of 16 she made her debut for the First team in a home tie against Motherwell, in the coming season Darcie got an International call up and represented Scotland in the U19’s Euro Qualifiers in Albania gaining her first International Cap.
Darcie is now on a full-time contract with Aberdeen Football Club playing is the Scottish Women’s Premier League, she scored her first goal for the first team away to Montrose in the 22/23 campaign and has scored some important goals since regularly appearing in AFC’s “goal of the month competitions”, most recently the final game of the 24/25 campaign where she made striker of the week in the SWPL League in a 3 nil win away to Queens Park, scoring one goal and assisting the other two in an outstanding performance for her.
